Haint Blue
Haints stories were the beginning of my love for scary movies. But I think that, among all the stories of ghosts and unexplained occurrences, they happened in the woods and wilds of the country. The trees told stories and concealed death, sadness, and anger. The ground held the many secrets. The country seemed like another dimension. By day, the sun hit every surface, and by night, it was so pitch black that you couldn't see your hand. Haint blue refers to a pale blue painted on houses in the South to ward away evil spirits and haints. The spirit realm was once thought to just be beyond a veil, but now we go about our business as if it doesn't exist. Its still there and I made some earrings for it.
